My name is Paul Richard McSorley and I am the proud founder of the Minskin cat breed. My journey in the cat fancy spans nearly 4 decades long and it all culminated into the smallest and most friendly breed of cats known as Minskin.

I was 21 years old when I started out in the cat fancy with a trio of Burmese. I built a solid foundation of quality cats starting in 1989 which ultimately evolved into the Minskin breed. *photo 1990 BosCats TICA show in Boston.

I experienced several cat breeds through the years Bengals were new on the scene and this was my first of two and probably the last. My heart was with Burmese first but I explored some other breeds. I learned that the Siamese I had could be bred with Burmese and the offspring are mink Tonkinese, so I did.

By 1994 my SGC cat Max won:
1994 International Best Lilac Burmese of the year. 2ND Best went to my female Aponi.

Supreme Grand Champion TheRiteType's Phoenix TICAs International Best Seal Mink Tonkinese of The Year 1994. Phoenix is the Great Granddaughter of my 1st generation Burmese x Siamese, "Milo" was their Tonkinese son. Milo was bred to my Burmese queen "Oprah" and they produced "Grizabella", who gave me Phoenix... and those lines continue into today's authentic TRT Minskins.

The early to mid/late 1990's there was an uproar when Geneticist and founding TICA member and head of TICA's genetics committee Dr Solveig Pflueger brought short-legged Munchkin cats to TICA's grace. After discussing her studies and their vitality as a sustainable new variety of feline, I leased a male Munchkin named "Amos" from Solveig, with the intention to breed him with my established Burmese
